Recently I've been handed more of the tasks related to our Dot Net Nuke site on an intermitten basis. Most of the simple things I've been able to manage with out much problem. Add a page here, fill with this content, only allow this group of people to see it etc... I recently suceeded in setting up a copy of the website on another server. Preparations to allow a switch over in case of server failure. While checking to make sure everything was working I came across one problem and will be checking for others.

The "User Accounts" page does not show any of the users in the database regardless of the fact that I'm logged in as a super user. Went to check and realized this problematic occurrence lies on our main site as well. Now I can add a new user and it gets entered into the database. Everyone can still login without problem.  How ever I can't edit users nor see who has an account on the users page. I seem to be able to still add people to security roles and remove them. That module the width on the listbox that contains the users names shows about 4 characters max though.

Is there a field in the sql database that needs to be fixed? While I can work around these sort of limitations I thought it best to try and correct the problem before something else ends up breaking in the site. For example our capability to log in. The Dot Net Nuke Version is 05.01.01 (98).

attempts to repair or upgrade the install have not worked. I made a new install and ported over the majority of the information making this thread now mostly a moot point or a scholastic one. On the plus side this gave the perfect opportunity to separate the sites that will be hosted on one server from the one which might be moved to another. Thanks to those who pondered my situation.

make sure to use users module in ADMIN menu. besides, there had been changes in DNN 5.3 regarding user management module.

Cheers from Germany,
