I have just upgraded to Community Edition Core 5.4.3 and Events 5.1.1 RC3.  When users are enrolled, their phone numbers show up in the event Edit form (thanks for that) but enrolled users no longer appear on the Edit Details form as they did using Events 5.0.3.  I have previously customised the Event Details template, am running this as a sub-calendar, and have the en-AU language pack installed.  Any ideas?

Also the release notes suggest that a user can delete their own enrollment, but I cannot see how to do this.

Cheers, Richard

Hi Richard,

For the enrollment list to show, the following need to be true:-
  • Permit Event Enrollment must be enabled in module settings
  • Allow Enrollment must be enabled on the event
  • Enroll List on Detail View must be enabled on the event
  • There must be people enrolled to the event
  • Select the User Fields to Display must be configured appropriately in module settings

I'm assuming everything is correct for you since this is an upgrade, but could you detail your configuration. Then we can see if it is some sort of upgrade problem.

To un-enroll from events, the user must go to the MY Enrollments view, where they can delete their enrollment as long as it is outside a specific period of time as defined by the administrator.

Also, I noticed you posted a bug yesterday, but it got deleted by a moderator (no idea why, probably a wrong key click). I have posted a bug fix, which will be in the next release. I didn't see it as a showstopper, since it only occurs if someone clicks again when there is a partial postback going on as indicated by the progress bar that displays as the bottom of the page.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger

I upgraded from Events 5.0.3.  All your conditions are met, but I have also just disabled caching.  Have just noticed on the Edit form that Qty was set to -1 for pre-existing enrolments.  The total enrolments was displayed as 0 even though there are 12 individuals listed.  When I added one more enrolment, his Qty was set to 1. All the attendees were then listed on the Event Details form whereas none showed before.  The pre-existing enrolments still showed Qty as -1.

In the EventsSignups table, all but the last row had NoEnrolees set to NULL.  After writing the rest of this post, I changed them all to 1 which fixed the issue.  The fix might be to treat NULL as meaning 1 rather than -1, or to retrofit pre-existing rows giving the new column the default value 1.

I noticed under the new enrolee box there appeared No of Enrolees: 1 (Max 1).  I had set the module maximum to 6, and when I tried setting the number to 5, I got an error something like Number of Enrolees must be in range 1 to 1.  At this point the No of Enrolees box disappeared so I could not correct things.

Un-enroll does work

I had set Cancel before days to 365 and could not select any box on My Enrolments.  With this set to 0, I can now select any future event (but no past ones, which is excellent!).  This was my misunderstanding of what Cancel before days meant.  Minimum cancellation notice in days would have been more informative, but probably only to me ;-).

Bug postings

The bugs I posted were informative and for Events 5.0.3.  You are correct, they are not showstoppers and they only occur if somebody is not patient during partial postbacks.  They did display Critical Errors so I figured they are worth fixing - this does not boost my users confidence!!!

Cheers, Richard

Hi Richard,

Looks like I missed setting the initial value for the NoEnrolees column for pre-existing signups. My error... Please run the following in the Host/SQL dialogue to correct:-

/* Change NoEnrolees null value to 1 */

UPDATE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventsSignups

SET NoEnrolees = 1

WHERE NoEnrolees is NULL

GO

/* Change NoEnrolees to NOT NULL */

ALTER TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventsSignups ALTER COLUMN NoEnrolees Int NOT NULL

GO

The way the No of Enrolees works is that it will allow upto the module maximum provided there are enough spaces left for the event. Please apply the SQL fix above to see if the module then behaves correctly. One of the things I have done with your own bug, was to improve the coding around the display of existing enrollments.

Ernst Peter and I will have to discuss if we do another release, if so it will be a 5.1.2 since there is a SQL change, and the other bug fix will be included.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Richard,

I have also posted a fix to another bug, where the No Enrolees box disappears as you indicated. This will be in a 5.1.2 release coming reasonably soon. 5.1.2 will include your other bug for when you are 'impatient' enroling people.

Cheers
Roger
