Hi everybody,
this is my first post on this forum so I take this opportunity to greet the whole community.

I'm working on a simple module with multiple view with different permission
One control has "All users" view permission and the other has "Registered Users" view permission.
I created two module definition within the manifest file

<modules>
   <module>
      <friendlyname>MyModule Public</friendlyname>
      <controls>
         <control>
            <src>DesktopModules/MyModule/ViewSharedPage.ascx</src>
            <type>View</type>
            <helpurl></helpurl>
         </control>
      </controls>
   </module>
   <module>
      <friendlyname>MyModule</friendlyname>
      <cachetime>0</cachetime>
      <controls>
         <control>
            <src>DesktopModules/MyModule/ViewMyModule.ascx</src>
            <type>View</type>
            <helpurl></helpurl>
         </control>
         <control>
            <key>Edit</key>
            <title>Edit Content</title>
            <src>DesktopModules/MyModule/EditMyModule.ascx</src>
            <type>Edit</type>
            <helpurl></helpurl>
         </control>
         <control>
            <key>Settings</key>
            <title>BabyBook Settings</title>
            <src>DesktopModules/MyModule/Settings.ascx</src>
            <type>Edit</type>
            <helpurl></helpurl>
         </control>
      </controls>
   </module>
</modules>

I can set the permission for each module but I need to hide one view control (according to a querystring param, for example).
I tryed to set the ContainerControl.Visible property to false and it works but I would like to know if this is the right way or there is a better way to get this behavior.
if (!IsPostBack)
{
   if (!CurrentView.Equals("SharedPage"))
   {
      this.ContainerControl.Visible = false;
      return;
   }
   // code.....
}

Regards.

Valentino

Rather than doing two different modules I would control the view toggling within a single module, it would be easier to manage as a single item.

Hi Mitchel, thanks for your reply.

If I use a single module and different views, do I have to check the view permission by code or can I configure the permissions on each view using the admin console?
