Howdy,

All the scripts executed successfully and I recall no reason why there would not be a Text/HTML module available directly after install.

I'm creating a new portal and it's quite easy: Set up the latest and greatest and copy over some content from other Text/HTML modules, about 5 and then duplicate flash functionality and we're there.

I went to install the Text/HTML modules and ... nada.  Nothing in the drop down.  Googled for anyone else having the same issue, it appears despite 100% success scripts something didn't install when I put in the Source package of DNN 5.4.3.   Is it possible the Install zip DOES have this running OK but since I'm in the habit of putting in Source code if I need it later, that the Source zip is at fault?

I found a free Text/HTML module with deniable capability in it and it's working fine as a standby.  However, the latest and greatest Text/HTML has versioning, etc. in it out of the box from DNN.  I would love to have this module.

Please tell me I don't have to start over and that the Text/HTML module I do want I still can get -- the straight up out of the box one from DNN itself. :)

Thanks,

Mike

PS -- BTW, I love the new control panel.  Lot's simpler, quite 21st Century.

Sebastian,

Thanks for the fast answer.  I did check in the Host menu if it was available as a stock optional add on.  It's not there.  I was unaware there was an admin menu like this now and that's probably where it lives.

I'll let you know if I don't find it.

Sebastian,

It isn't there.  In the Admin menu the only such module is the Text/HTML deniable I downloaded yesterday afternoon.

Deploy permissions, this refers to the install permissions when I set up DNN?  These were by the book with a db login having dbo rights, Network Authority service having rights to the website folder, etc.

I checked the code subdirectories element in web.config and it's no longer part of that.  The HTML folder does exist in /DesktopModules.  Apparenlty no definition was ever set up for it during install.  The view, settings, edit, my work ascx files are there so I could look at a known good installation and set up the definitions myself.

I'd have to guess that the Source package has an omission in the manifest re: creating the definitions.  I don't write PAs so this is my guess from what I recall ou of the original DNN book -- the manifest file content is parsed and thus determines all these actions, such as creating definitions.

At this point I think that's what I'll do, log into one of the sites I know has these modules installed and see how the definitions are set up, etc.

Mit Fruendliche Grussen aus Cincinnati,

Mike

Sebastian,

I'm not sure of the way to update a post, so if replying to the same message isn't correct clue me in.

I tried adding the definitions but ... none of the database objects were created either.  So now that the module is on one of the pages ... :)

I'd say this is an omission in the manifest for the Source + Install package, that's my best guess.

Mike
