I have done some searching around and come across people with what sounds like the same problem I'm having and their problem typically arises when they are doing an install or update.  I have not touched anything on my website for a good 9 months, and one day it decided to start giving me the "Text/HTML Currently Not Available" message.

The hosting provider has given me zero help, and I don't know what to do.  We are in the process of beginning to redesign our website, but now all of my content is gone.

So my questions are...
  • Is there an easy way to just find the files that contain the text that used to show up on my website? I have searched through everything I can think of and I am coming up empty handed.
  • Is there an easy way to restore my site to make the text/html available?
At this point, if I could just find access to the text files I would be happy, that way we could recreate the website as planned.

I thank you in advance for any help, this has been going on about 3 weeks now and I am running out of ideas.  Fair warning as well, I am not experienced with websites, and the guy who helped us originally set this up is now gone.

you are running a 3 year old version of DotNetNuke. I suggest upgrading to 4.9.5 and the error should be fixed.

We are going to be re-doing our website as soon as I can get this figured out, so I don't really want to spend the time updating everything just to end up not using it. Also, I would probably end up causing more problems trying to upgrade than I currently have. I guess my question now is, when I would edit the text on the pages, it had to have been saved somewhere, right??? Where can I access that text at?? I've got another website running on a ZenCart format and I know right where the files with the text from the pages is saved at, I just can't seem to find it on this Mega Tech website. What would make the website just all of a sudden stop working correctly? I understand that

In DotNetNuke websites there are no actual pages except for Default.aspx. All pages and their content are created "on-the-fly" from information stored in the database associated with the site installation. Content for the Html/Text modules of which most of your site is comprised and which are not currently working may be found in the HtmlText table of the database. Most likely your database is MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005 (express or standard) and can be examined by a free tool such as MS SQL Server Management Studio. If you don't have the database connection string information available, it can be found in the site's web.config file located in the root folder.

Judging from the copyright date of the site you are probably using one of the earlier DNN 4.x versions. As I recall, content for the Html/Text modules is stored in the DesktopHtml column of the HtmlText table of the database.

As it appears that you may be able to log into the site OK, you may want to login as host user (preferably host but if not available as admin) and examine the Admin-->Event Log to obtain more information as to why the Html/Text modules are give the "not available" error.
