Hmmm .... today my 4.9 site started behaving strangely.
I update it every day ... at minimum a text/html module gets a change and events get added or changed in the events calendar module.
Today I logged in to the site as I normally do went to do my editing.
Everything seemed to be going along like normal until I went to edit the text/html module.
As the page was being built up came an authorization box wanting a username and password.
When I refuse it shows me my page with the editor portion painted with the 'you do not have permission' decoration.
I get the same thing when I want to add or edit an event.
It's only the Editor portion that is affected ...

I'm a bit stymied here ...
Is this a  bug that has appeared with the editor before?
Have I been hacked?
Has GoDaddy done something behind the scenes?
Is it time to trash the whole thing and start over with 5.41?
(Or just trash it and just take a vacation?)

Hmmm - I just went looking it would appear it's a hack job - GREAT :(
I guess now I'm looking for advice on the best route to take to get to 5.4 - upgrade or scrape the site and start over with a fresh install?
Arghh ...

Since you think you were hacked, you need to start from scratch.  That would include password changes.
