Dear All,
I have uploaded the 5.4.2 community edition and get the following error. I have set the
customErrors mode="Off"
and it still gives exactly the same message.
Please can someone  advise me what I need to do to get it to work.

thx
Rob

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>

You are getting the same error that I am getting. I recently upgraded from 4.9 to 5.4. I saved my old web.config file with the proper connection string setting but I cant get the web site to display. If you get the answer please let me know. info@bmtt.org

Hi Seb, Yes I did. I have developed .net since beta asp.net in 2000 and often see similar but its normally a server config issue. The server has the latest asp.net 3.5 sp1 and everything is sweet for my others sites. I cannot figure it out... thx rob
