That's not what I wanted to hear! :)

You might take a look at the web.config file for the following line

<httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" />

You might increase those settings, though I doubt that is your issue :(

I bumped them up with no success.  FYI the next module I tried to install was about 1,200k.

It's funny that everything else on this plain-vanilla, out-of-the-box site works perfectly.  The install was flawless.  I can create users, tabs, edit content with no problem.  Heck, in two days there hasn't been one error in the DNN Event Viewer.  Not even a Scheduler error.

Should I consider uninstalling and reinstalling IIS?

Can you try to create a new child portal?

Interesting.  This doesn't seem to work.  The first time I tried it got hung up and the only error came from the browser as a "timeout".  No errors in either the DNN or Windows Event Logs

I had to reboot the server (again) because each time it hangs I try to restart IIS which also hags on startup.  I think this is a clue.

Now, no matter what setup information I give it, it throws the following error on the page when I try to create a Child Portal.

     The Child Portal Name You Specified Already Exists. Please Choose A Different Child Portal Name.

I checked the Portals Table and there is only one record for the original portal created during setup.

Are we on to something here?

OK Chris.  You must have had a reason for me to try to create a child portal.  Why do you think it failed.  What's my next step?
