So we've installed DNN and are trying to do our first "new extension". But when it gets to the final step of the wizard it times out. Fire Fox just tells us the connection is reset. I'm guessing there's a DB write failing here. Any suggestions?

Hi Heath,

Are you using SQL Server as the database? If so, do you have access to the SQL Server Profiler utility - this will let you watch what is happening in the database and see any errors.

Anything in the DotNetNuke Event Log (an exception with a stack trace might be helpful), anything in the Windows Event Log etc?

Regards,
Rhys

Unfortunately I'd looked in all of those places to no avail. However I noticed that the error doesn't occur if I specify the owner during the second step... despite it not being validated to a required field it looks like the app errors out if I leave it blank.

owner is required, depending on the version you use there are known issues.
