Hi

I wanted to know if it's possible to have a PHP app (WordPress) running under a subdomain of DNN site, and on a different server, be able to authenticate a user in the DNN database?

Thanks

Hello,

If you are meaning authenticate (auto-login) the user in the DNN Web Site, we have a Single Sign On module (now on private beta) which allows you to do this along with other related features (create/update/delete users, their roles assignments and profile information). This functionality is provided via REST Web Services. If you want more information about it, please contact sales@interzoic.com

Regarding the user authentication, the basic workflow would be as follows:
  • A remote “Client” application calls the SSO web service hosted on the “DNN” server to get a temporary Token.
  • The Token is valid for a short period of time.  The duration is configured in the administrative UI for the web service on the DNN server.
  • The DNN Username AND the Token must be included in the Link/URL from the Client application when directing Users to the DNN server.
  • The DNN User is automatically signed/logged in into the DNN site if the Token in the URL is still valid.

Thanks,
Horacio.-
