I have a pretty plain vanilla, out of the box DNN setup.  I haven't loaded any modules or extensions that didn't come with the original install.  I have installed a skin but it's been working fine for several weeks.

Tonight a user called to say they had registered but then couldn't log in.  I went into Users and couldn't find them.  I told them to re-register.  They tried but got a system error (they didn't think to write it down and had forgotten the specific wording by the time they called me).

I went back into DNN, logged in fine, but when I tried to access the User Admin page I get  "Internet Explorer can not display the web page" error in IE and "Connecton was Interrupted" error in Firefox.

This happens on most admin and host pages now.  I can enter some Admin pages such as Taxonomy, Search Engine Sitemap, Google Analytics and Extensions.  I can not enter the rest of the Admin or Host pages.

I have no idea what went wrong or how to fix it.  HELP please.

Errors looks like troubles with your sever or browser (connection ddn't set up properly), not like dnn(web application) issue. You can try to test it in other browser or give me a link.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried it in three different browsers: IE, Firefox and Chrome.  Same problem.  In fact I mentioned the errors I received in both IE and Firefox in my orignial post.

I'm hosted on GoDaddy.com and I have multiple accounts there.  Never had a single problem with hosting there - either with DNN sites or other technologies.

I could give you the link, but what good would that do without giving you an Admin password - and I can't get into the Admin pages to setup a password for you.

Other suggestions?

Please log into the site as host user (or admin if you don't have host access) and check for errors in the Admin-->Event Viewer. With out exact error log information it is difficult to tell what is happening.

It is also possible that the number of entries in the EventLog, SiteLog, or ScheduleHistory tables in the database have grown to the point that database performance has decreased to the point that timeouts or other connectivity issues are appearing. If you have logged in as host user you can delete all entries in the Event Viewer (after examining them) to bring that one down to size. Your database's transaction log might also have grown too large - not sure if GoDaddy provides a control panel function to backup the database and truncate the log or if you have to request support to handle that for you.

William,

I have SuperUser access to the host.
The Event Viewer is one of the pages that won't load.
So how can I read the event log when I can't access that page in the Admin menu?
