Hi All,

I'm facing few problem while migrating the published code of DNN site to another server.

Here are the steps i followed --

1. Copied the entire published code from production server to development server
2. Configured the code in IIS
3. Give Header Value = www.nor.no and Port=80
4. Windows --> System32 --> drivers --> etc --> hosts --> [IP Address of my dev server] [space] [www.nor.no] , this is so that i can avoid changing portalalias table in db
5. change application pool to classic .net AppPool
6. ping to the site www.nor.no, it refer to the same ip address which i write in hosts file ( point 4.)
7. Now when i access the site in browser, it does not show any of module....it give some weird errors like "'HtmlTextController' is ambiguous in the namespace 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Html'."
8. when i try to upgrade this, then also it does not work.

But most important, if works great on development server.

I'm using server 2008 as development server.

Please help me
Thanks in Advance

What version of DNN?

Do you have .NET 3.5 SP1 on the new server?

Did you setup the file permissions on the copied files?

Hi Chris,

Actually my project was initially in .Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0
but now we have converted this into 3.5 with SP1

Thanks for your communication.

Cheers !!!
