Hello,

I recently installed DotNetNuke (v 4.9). Where exactly is the database? I executed a CREATE TABLE script, which ran without errors. I can also run a SELECT query against that table without errors, but I can't find the table anywhere. I checked the Database.mdf file in the App_Data folder, but there's only a "Version" table. The web.config connection string section points to the local SQL Server Express installation, but there's no DNN database when I open it with SQL Manager.

I'm just a bit confused at this point. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks! :)

please check out the active connection string in your web.config file to identify the proper database.

In the connectionStrings section, I have this:

<add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

OK, so I did a SELECT HOST_NAME(), which returned the name of my computer. Then I did a select SELECT db_name() query, which returned "master." I fired up SQL Manager and checked out the master database. None of the tables show up in there. Perhaps I'm stupid (it's a distinct possibility). Does anyone have a clue what's going on here?

Thanks!

the connection string points to a serer, bot not to a database, very strange. check for any .dbf file in your web site and check system tables in your database - the db user might have a different default database, which get used.
