Hi,

I have a requirement to save user specific preferences setting. For this I do not want to save settings into external database. Is there any DotNetNuke inbuilt database where I can create a new table and add code to insert/ update/ select data. Please reply asap.

you may use DotNetNuke database to store your module data, like most other modules do - make sure to use either stored procedures or Linq to access your tables securely. If you just need to store a few settings, you may use ModuleSettings (per module instance) or TabModuleSettings (per module reference) table and add your values using existing API.

Thx for quick response. I need to store preferences setting "User Specific" not module specific. I am new to DotNetNuke platform, please reply where to find inbuilt DNN Database? Is the Database.mdf file under "App_Data" folder is the same? If yes, then I can add new table there, is not it?

please check your web.config file, where your actual database resides, the default install routine uses app_Data/database.mdf. if you need to store information per user, you might use userprofile instead of module settings.
