Hi,

Is there any way to handle an event which will happen several times but not on a regular recurrence pattern.  Say, for example, a concert venue will have the same performer maybe one weekend in July, one weekend in August and the 12 and 15 September?  There's no regular recurrence pattern - I want simply to be able to add arbitrary dates to the event.

I'd then like to be able to provide a list view that lists each artist with a list of the dates they will play on (sorted by the next date for each, not including those who have no gigs in the future).

I can't see how to do this in the standard events module - or is it possible? If not, then does anyone know of any module with this functionality?

Thanks

Adam

This can be done, but you do it the other way around. Enter a recurrence pattern with about the # of events that you want to have (say 4). Then change the date of the individual events of the recurrence series to any of the dates that you want it to happen. Each event of a recurrence series can have its own date/time.

Hmm...problem with this is that you cannot alter an event in the series to be after the end date for the original (fake) "recurrence" so you have to find a recurrence pattern with the right start/end dates and right number of events - although I suppose you could delete individual unwanted events.  Potentially workable for my use though, thanks - I hadn't thought of approaching it from that way.

Also, is it possible to display an entire recurrence series as one row in list view, with all the dates for the series (or, all the future dates for the series) listed?  I see how to display a written description of the recurrence pattern (which in my case I don't want of course) and the end date for the series, but not how to list the dates of each individual event.

You can collapse recurring events in the list view, but having several dates from different events in 1 line is not possible AFAICS. What could be an option is to use the standard DNN Reports module to query the Events tables directly and display a report that might be more in line with what you want to display.

Just wanted to say thanks.  Hadn't thought to do this as a report, but it works! :)
