Has anyone any suggestions on this:

It seems the top nav bar on my site are not links: www.advancedhiring.com

your navigation buttons are not links
[5:11:24 AM] Chris Garrett: so google can not follow them
[5:11:46 AM] Chris Garrett: "blog" does not link to your blog, it is a button that can't be read by google
[5:12:13 AM] Alan Fendrich: on the upper nav bar?
[5:12:23 AM] Chris Garrett: yes

Any DNN experts have any ideas on this?

The skin you are using appears to be using the old Solpart menu which is not SEO friendly. I would suggest replacing the menu with the newer NAV menu are changing your skin to one that has the NAV menu.

Yes, you have been told the truth.

The old DNN menu uses javacscript to build the menu.  Google (and others) don't execute the javascript on a page, so the menu doesn't get built, and it cant' be crawled.

The correct advice is to replace the menu with another type of menu system that uses actual links to display. There are plenty of these around.

In the short term you can get around this by linking to your pages somewhere else on your site, for example, in the footer.  Also, be sure to submit a search engine sitemap for your site, which will let search engines find all the indexed pages.

I am working on a site with an old solpart skin in and Google has already found all of its pages and links so I think google is good at sorting out javascript though. But better menus are better for SEO. Old skin should not be used anymore. me I have just got started on this site and ti wil contain a Nav DNN menu when I am ready.

solpart had a mode to render as link list to "downsize" browsers, i.e. search crawlers.
