This is my case:

Three sites with diferent domain names, say, www.domain1.com , www.domain2.com , and www.domain3.com . Now domain1.com will be the master portal. And domain2.com and domain3.com will use same user table of domain1.com so that a user can register from any of the 3 sites and can login to any of the 3 sites with that single username.

I saw DNN multisite works for a single domain(site1.domain.com , site2.domain.com etc). Will it work for different domain names as I mentioned above? Any tutorial for that kind of setup?

Thanks.

The ability to do this is almost in the core DNN.  User details are stored in the User table.  The UserPortals table stores the UserID and the PortalID.  Therefore to have a user registered in all 3 portals is simply a matter of have the corresponding entries for each User in UserPortals - in your case Portals 0, 1 and 2.

You would need to write a small module to do this.  In my case I rewote the User registration program so that it adds a new User to all available portals.

If the underpinnings of DNN allow this, you'd think it would be easy to have a Hosting option that would allow cross-site-user-registrations. Anyone thought about putting this into the core code?
