I have been having issues since the last few upgrades where sometimes the banner will not show up, a module I just installed on a page doesnt show up, and so on.

Same thing with forums I can create a forum it shows it should be there but only after a refresh or two will it show up, but then disappear after.

It is very inconsistant and most the time things show up, just not all the time and it is getting very annoying.

I am using the CE edition, maybe a fresh install is in need?

If I was to do a fresh install is there a way to transfer all the current web portals information to a new install?  I just feel something is glitching and it maybe in the database providers or something in a file that was not updated properly.  I have upgraded a number of times since I have had this issue which I didnt really think much of since it went away after a refresh but its gotten to the point I need to make this application stable so I am not wasting so much time refreshing to see what I am working on.

I have cleared the cache settings and restarted the application.

It is really bad when I first open a new portal.  I am using a custom skin.  Any ideas what causes this type of problem where content you submit or changes made, modules added to page dont show up regularly but only part of the time would be great.  The database is taking in the changes DNN just is not showing them on the web page unless you refresh a few times sometimes more or less.

I restarted IIS and it seems to have cleared up the issue some... however I still get a problem after adding a module that I need to refresh the page to see it.   However the changes from  the old information to the new updates back and forth finally cleared itself up.

I dont remember it ever having this issue prior to 5.04.01 but maybe it is something on my end.  If i remember when doing an update that was said "successful" there was two errors on the 5.04.01 and 5.04.02 SQL updates.  This is when the buggy situations started with the header banner dissappearing and stuff like this.

I have already upgraded a few times past this and dont have a way to go that far back since I have made a series of changes.

I have ran this for many updates I am just curious if I would be better off trying to migrate everything to a fresh install... or is this normal after adding a portal to deal with these issues.

Are you using Professional edition with page caching turned on?

I was using heavy cache trying to speed up pages.  I turned it off now to see if that will fix the issue.  It takes so dang long for the homepage to load up...nothing like a php website.  Is there anyway to get the website pages to load faster when they visit a portal?  This thing is dragging.

I am wondering if I should create a DNN CE installation for each clients website.  I am trying to have a cost effective way to build basic websites that function smooth.  And I dont want them to relate to eachother, or mix in any way.  I want all modules to be installed with no conflicts or issues with other portals.  Like emails going to admins of other portals from feedback from a different website.

I am guessing this glitch is just my installation since I dont see others posting a problem like this.

Guess what, after disabling that cache feature modules are installing properly.  Must be a glitch in the cache setup.  Maybe it needs to do a clear cache whenever installing prior to installing new modules.  Or a turn it off i guess while making changes to the websites.  Of coarse this would be a pain so might as well just leave it off... bummer I was hoping for better performance.
