Hey folks - just installed DNN 5.4.4 - first time user. I struggled thru the install but I finally got what appeared to be a clean setup - virtual site is set, database is there. At that point I tried to fire up the site and I immediately get a DNN error page and all it says is Windows XP. What's up with that?

BTW - I am running XP Pro SP3 and SQL Server 2005.

Thanks in advance.......

Hmm, so the DNN install wizard ran fine?

As best I can tell the wizard did complete sucessfully. A few more bits of info I have turned up - after viewing source on the error page there was some embedded html text that stated that a foreign key constraint was being violated during an insert - FK_PortalAlias_Portals. Not sure what was going on with that as the error occurs before I had a chance to do anything in the portal.

I went into SQL and turned off the constraint - just to see what would happen. It got past the original error but quickly came up with a 'object reference not found' error.

At this point I'm wondering if I shold just whack the entire install and try again.

As best I can tell now - the install wizard did not complete successfully. After I cleaned everything up and reinstalled things look better. This time the wizard showed me a portal setup page which I did not see the 1st time. I think this was causing the original error - which turned out to be a SQL fk constraint issue. There were no rows in the Portal table.

I am in and poking around now. Thanks for your support!
