Hi, I'm trying to get a save as dialog to open to download a PDF from a usercontrol. On my usercontrol I have a button which in the button event has code like:

        Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf";

        Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Format("attachment; filename=\"" + "fileName" + "\""));

        Response.BinaryWrite(content);

        Response.End();

This approach works for me when not in DNN but when I try this in DNN from my usercontrol the dialog never gets displayed. No exceptions apppear to be thrown just no dialog.

Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks!

You need to the clear the response before you do the rest of the writes.

Hi Mitchel, thanks for you response. I tried changing it to: Response.Clear(); Response.ClearContent(); Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"; Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", string.Format("attachment; filename=\"" + "fileName" + "\"")); Response.BinaryWrite(content); Response.End(); Still doesn't seem to work. I'm pretty sure it's got to do with DNN because it works outside DNN. Any ideas?

Actually I just found out it was caused by my RadGrid being ajaxified. Thanks though!
