i am very new to dnn so this question is probably quite basic to most but i cannot figure out how to add a blog to a portal even after reading the manual.

i installed the latest dnn and accidentally added the blog module someplace. i probably can't find it again but i wrote one blog. i would now like to add a menu option to the home page "Blog" which would take the browser to the a page which shows the current blog and a blog archive. i can't figure out how to do it. the other problem is assigning rights. i want all visitors to be able to read, comment, search, etc but only admin (me) to be able to write blogs. at some point i would like to allow guest contributors but not sure if that is a possible workiflow with the free edition.

i have been modifying the default portal which popped out of the installation box.

Hey Tony,
You can check Admin-Users->Roles tab to set up a role for your users, then add users to this role. After that, you can navigate to your blog page and set permissions in there (via page settings) so the role you created has certain privileges. This won't solve the whole issue but at least will help with smth.
Also, plz check Blog Machine dnn blog module - pretty good alternative to standard dotnetnuke blog. Plus, we got training videos on it.

Looking for dotnetnuke module development or dotnetnuke skinning services provider? Check our dnn modules and dotnetnuke skins to see where you can start.
