Hi there,

Does anyone know, or have an example, on how to implement a print area within a module by using a print.css?

I want to use a button for starting the printing process but i only want to show a portion of my custom build module.

Thanks,

Marc

I haven't tried it, yet, but take a look at Vicenç's TemplatePrint skin object. Unfortunately, there's really no support for this. If you'd like to see it in a future release, check Gemini to see if there's a feature request. If there is, comment on it; otherwise, add one. This will ensure it gets added to the to do list.

TemplatePrint allows you to specify a skin and container to be used for print view, but to print only a part of the module, you will need either to use device specific classes in your skin.css or check the dnnprintmode URL parameter in your module, when rendering the output.

Thanks for your replies. I have been away for a week and was unable to check my mail. I will follow your leads and let you know if i progress.

Marc

Update:

The solution you mention is path of skinning. I have not been there yet and i think it will take me some time to figer it out (which i unfortenately don't have).

Meanwhile i'm progressing a bit on the print.css  Currently i use mediatype for printing. It looks like this:

@media print {

div { display: none }

div.print { display:inline }

}

Currently i have linked it from the default.aspx but i would like to stay away from such a "solution". Í'd rather have it linked from my viewModule.ascx control. The currunt behaviour is that when i do a print preview nothing shows up. As soon as i remove the link from default.aspx and do a print preview again it will show my entire page.

Do you know how i can progress a little further?

Marc
