Hi All,

Just upgraded to 5.4.4 (from 4.8) and I notice that there is now an "automatically create users" function in the Active Directory authenication module that defaults to "true." Is there a way to globally disable this feature for all portals? I'm in a school and I'd rather not require authentication unless a particular teacher site requires registration to view specific pages. Thanks!

No there isn't a global way of turning it off. It's on a per-portal basis.

Well, OK. I may have misunderstood what the checkbox does anyway. But it think something is wrong anyway: when I hit a new site in IE it automatically logs me in (which is how I have IE set). When I hit a new site in Firefox I get asked for my credentials. If I don't supply them and crash the login, the next time I hit the site I get in. Apparently I'm getting a cookie even though the login crashes. Also, when I change the "Don't automatically create users" checkbox, the change won't stick. Surely this can't be the correct behavior for the module (5.0.2).

Can the module be set up so that it allows anonymous users and only authenticates on login? I would assume this is because I set the ActiveDirectory folder to disallow anonymous users (which the module fussed at me about) and it seems that the folder is being hit the first time a user visites the site whenther they try to login or not.

Hmm - I see that the reason I'm getting the request for credentials in Firefox is because my domain isn't in the list of trusted uri's. That would still seem to indicate that the module is trying to authenticate all users. How do I set the module to allow anonymous users on pages that are visible to All Users?
