Yes, .Net 4 is the critical ingredient in this issue. With .Net 2 everything works, switching the app pool to .Net 4 makes this issue reproducible 100% of the time. The issue is because valEntry_ServerValidate indicates the content is not valid, because the editor provider returns an empty string because the rad editor says it has no content. It is not clear if this is ultimately a rad editor issue, or something wrong in how the rad editor is configured in the editor provider, or configured in the blog module. The rad editor does work with .Net 4 in other contexts like the HTML module. BTW, the fck editor provider does not have this issue.

I am not able to reproduce this with 4.1.0 RC.  Can you test it on your side and see if you are still seeing the problem.

I just installed the blog 4.1 RC on the 5.6.0 release using .Net 4 and it worked beautifully.  Nice work.

The current options are in no particular order:
  • Use .Net 2
  • Use FCK
  • Use the Blog Release Candidate
