We have created WCF service, which is outside of DNN 5 Web Site. Service works correctly and we can reference it and use it in standalone web application.
We want to use this WCF service in our DNN module. We need step-by-step directions on how to reference and use WCF service in DNN 5 module.
Also, I wish to know if iWebCF is the only way to consume WCF WebService? But that requires WebService to be published under the desktop modules in DNN or can it be used to invoke WCF WebServices which reside outside of DNN?

Appreciate your help in advance

Hi, thank your for the response. But I think they talk about creating WCF webservices within DNN. I am looking to invoke WCF webservices which are not within the DNN framework but outside of DNN. Please correct me if I am missing something.

RoyJI

i'm a little confused - you're not hosting or consuming a wcf service, but instead want to invoke one running on a different website? If that's the case you are just making a webservice request i.e. add a web service request and invoke it. If you're trying to execute by url and dont have service access you could use a webrequest.

Check out the tutorial Vacation Request 2.0 - Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) and DotNetNuke.  The workflow is hosted inside the WCF and it is cosumed by DNN.
