Hi all!

I hope you guys will help me wit a few probably obvious questions. DotNetNuke is a totally new experience for me, but I am a bit familiar with programming (HTML, CSS). I'm figuring out what's possible with DNN (5.4.2) and what's not. Bit ashamed to ask these questions, but hopefully someons will take a second to answer them :).

- I've tried to change the appearance of my website using the Stylesheet Editor. Nothing works, everything stays the same. In fact, when I erase all entries originally there, ther's no difference at all. What's the use of the Stylesheet Editor?
- In relation to that, is it even possible to change for instance the background-color within DotNetNuke? So without making changes in the skin?
- I've uploaded a skin into my website that is close to my wishes, but I do want some things changed. I want to remove certain items like the date up on top, and the terms of use in the footer. What's the right way to accomplish that?
- The plan for my website consists of a vertical menu at the left of the page, which consists of numeral submenu's. Besides that, I want a menu at the top of my site with only some shortcut links like "Home, Search, FAQ, Links, ABC" etc. Should these link be formed by a second menu, or would it be better to just put a text-module with these links on top of every page?

Thanks for answering in advance!

The Stylsheet Editor could only changes thinks about the content.

All other changes you want to do have be done into the skin.
Backround Color have to be changes in the skins.css file.
The Date Skinobject have do be removed from the Skin.ascx file.
Terms of use can be changed in the Language language editor in the admin section for each language you support.
Shortcut links have to be added manuelly to the skin.ascx file or with a new created skinobject.

Thanks!

I've only got one remaning question, could you explain your comment about the shortcut links?
I want to have static menu-items in the top of my site. When I create a skin myself, my solution would be to leave space in my design for a toppane. In DotnetNuke, I would add a module for the links in there.
My guess is that there are better solutions. I've allready seen that the links I can make with the module don't match the lay-out of my menu. And I can't fix that in DNN.
What you're saying is that the solution is to encode the shortcut links in de skin itself? How do I do that?!
