Hi
I am new to DotNetNuke, though I had worked for 15 days on earlier version. I have been assigned to continue development on the existing project which was developed in DotNetNuke. I have all the source code and libraries of the project. But I don't know how to start. Do I need to install DNN even though I have all the dlls and all? I tried configuring the project in IIS and then run, but it shows so many errors.
Kindly anybody show me the steps?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gandhi

A typical dev environment for modules would have a DNN installation with seperate projects based in the desktop modules folder that compile the assemblies into the dnn bin directory. Unless you are modifying the core in which case you will have a more complicated build & debug environment.
Typically to debug a module you would run the website via IIS as any website and then attach the debugger to the worker process. To modify your module you would do your code updates etc and this would compile the bin directory, rerun the website and your mods should be included. You need to understand also how module definitions work and how they relate to the module code you are creating.
