Hi,

I am working on a project that would be connecting to Active Directory for single sign-on. However, I encounter several problems as I have to import 600+ users into the system, and thereafter, configure 10% of them to be administrators of 25 child portals. I have tried to import 10 into the database, and login to these accounts using AD but failed. How are the following possible:
  1. Import users to the database so that the they can login to the portal with the pre-configured access rights?
  2. Configure all users to be registered members of 25 child portals?
Would appreciate your urgent response.

Cheers,
Adrian

What happened when you tried to login using the AD? Theoretically it should be possible as the password should be reset when logging in manually (it's a random password that's stored in the DNN database anyways). How did you import the users into the database? Just curious as the user info has to go into a number of tables. In any case, there's no built into DNN process for importing users into a single site much less 25 sites. It would have to be a manual (by manual I mean you'd have to write the SQL sprocs) procedure.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your quick response. I had only created the user in the main user table, which is probably why I encountered the problem. Can you advise on which tables should I insert the record for this to work? Noted on the manual procedure to import users into child portals.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Adrian. This time of year is h*ll for me (16 days straight at 12 - 16 hours a day). Off the top of my head... Users, UserPortals, and the ASPNet User tables.
