Hi, is there an installation log kept when DNN is being installed?

I get the following error when trying to install and am trying to trace through the code but can't determine where the error comes from as there are multiple possible locations:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error
The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

The stored procedure 'dbo.GetPortalAliasByPortalID' doesn't exist.

Is a stack trace perhaps available somewhere?

Thanks,
chris

the error "ERROR: Could not connect to database." means just that: no connection to the database could be made. You should check wether the connection string in your web.config is correct. If it is, you can check the windows event viewer application log on the box that has your sql server on for any errors.

cheers,

Erik

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The installation does indeed connect to the database; the Version table is created, along with three stored procedures....

The problem was so simple, it turns out. I used a domain ASPNET account instead of the local one that the application was using, ahhhhhhhh!!

I have exactly the same problem, except that i don't understand the answer....
My box (2003 server) has an AD, anonymous access is made through IUSR_XXX and this user has full access to dnn filesystem....
It doesn't work, only 3 stored procs and 1 table are created at install
