If I mark the User Accounts page as Secure to enable SSL for it, visiting the page seems to go into an infinite loop.

Looks like getting https://.../UserAccounts.aspx  then does a javascript window.location.replace back to http://.../UserAccounts.aspx which then 302s back to https ad infinitum.

Turning off Friendly URLs prevents it, but then my URLs are ugly... Plus I still don't understand why it happens in the first place and whether there's any other way around it.

Tried this on a few more pages and I'm getting some very odd behaviour. When testing this on a couple my my own content pages, I get either the same infinite looping OR the 302 works to redirect to https but then I get a 404.  It seems (though I'm sure it's not) random, as I sometimes get infinite redirects on a page, then try the page again and get a 404 instead...

very confused.

Yes, 5.5.0.  Actually looking through the bug list, it seems to have partially been reported in DNN-13644.  He was not seeing the infinite redirects that I am, but he was seeing the 404s and the workaround (set UsePortNumber=false in web.config)  works in my case too.

What are the implications of UsePortNumber="false" though?  I assume as long as I am hosting on standard ports (80,443) this won't matter?
