We are using the standard DNN navigation skin element (
The left most menu item is HOME. It has no child menu items. It should be and is clickable.

All of the other top level menu items point to pages that are DISABLED (via the page settings). This was done to make them show up in the menu, but they don't take you anywhere when you click on them. They are just menu headers. When you mouse over them the child menu items are displayed.

The problem is we don't want those top level menu "headers" to be clickable (other than the HOME item). When clicked - it causes the child items to disappear. I get why this is happening, but I'm not sure I understand a way to work around it.

I looked into the dnn.controls.dnnmenu.js file, but am overwhelmed at where to start tweaking it.

I also tried setting those top level menu items to point to an external url and put in " void();", but that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

When you create the top level page you have a checkbox option to enable or disable the page.  If disabled it shows but is unclickable...

I fear, you will look for a different menu, which handles clicks on disabled menu items differently.

I have this exact same issue where I have pages that are disabled with subpages that are enabled.  Ideally I would like to have the cursor remain default when over a disabled page and a pointer when over an enabled one.  Also it would be nice to prevent the menu disappearing if the user clicks on a disabled page link.

Anyone have any suggestions?
