just found this testing to see if it is easier than phpnuke.

I hve a domain/website already and am always looking to expand.

I don't know if it's easier than php nuke, i'm not familliar with that.

If you already have php enabled hosting, you might have a problem there, because php also runs on linux / mysql, while DotNetNuke only runs on Windows / MS SQL Server.

Installing dotnetnuke is quite easy:

* make sure you have dbo rights to the mssql server
* make sure the asp.net worker process user has modify rights to your web root folder
* unpack the install zip
* rename release.config to web.config
* change the connection string in the web.config to whatever your hosting provider assigned you to
* ftp the complete unpacked install dir to the root of your site
* browse to your site
* finished

My hosting package is on a linux box so I quess I am out of luck installing it right?

Looked really user friendly too...

Yep, on linux you're really out of luck. Depending on the hosting contract you have you could try switching over to a windows hosting provider, or even the provider you are with can help you. You can find windows hosting incl. SQL for as low as $10 per month
