Things seem to be rather stagnant in the Reports sub-forum, so I'll repost this here in hopes there might be some way to resolve my problem from the Form & List side of it:

I'm having problems with one of my Reports modules using a UDT source.

It throws a General Exception "Cannot remove this column, because it is part of an expression:"... whenever I don't include in the reports view all the columns that were used in calculated column expressions in my UDT.

Is there any way to "include" these columns yet hide them from the reports view so I don't have to see Tick count columns, etc.

Specifically, I have a list of radio programs in an F&L with calculated columns presenting the dd/mm/yyyy as "September" or "2010", etc. for the end user to be able to search/sort by in a report on a different page. I also use calculated columns to determine whether the program was aired within the last week or this week. While I would not want to include those columns in the report, I receive the above error if I don't include them.

Thanks for any help

This is not possible with the current FnL Reports datasource, sorry. Please post it as work item to dnnfnl.codeplex.com, I will take care on it in a future release.

Posted on the Codeplex page.

Do you recommend any module(s) that can calculate & display those kind of time relationships (only show this week, last week, etc.) without delving heavily into SQL/Databases? (My calculations end up OK, I just can't get the appropriate columns displayed cogently on another page).

Check out my blog - A procedure to Flatten UDTs here.  Once you have a flattened result  I recommend you try SGSV to report the data.  You may not require the calculated fields if you some of the formatting options available in SGSV.

Paul.
