Thanks for the input. I have installed 4.6 version and am still faced with the same issue. I can add posts/start new threads from backend, but this is not possible on front side.

Is there a setting I am missing to allow users to post replys/start new threads?

Thanks so much for your help

Once installed did you go into the Forum Manager (under admin) and edit the permissions for your forums?

I do not see Edit Permissions anywhere on the back end. I have the following:
Control Panel which consists of Overview,General,Community,Attachments,RSS,SEO
Forums, which consists of Forum Manager
Users, which consists of Users,Avatars,User Settings and User Interface
Content and Email

I have found nothing which indicates permissions for Forum

Thanks for your patience

Permission settings are on ForumAdmin/Forums/for each forum in the forum edit,  and for the complete module on Module settings.
