Howdy Folks!

I did an upgrade from 5.4 to 5.5 and it's a nice performance update!   I used the manual method:  backed everything up, copied the zip contents over, hit the site, let the system upgrade.

Here's the one problem I've run into.  The site now will not run using URL rewriting (UR).  The home page hits and works great, but all the navigation is broken (basically just redirects to non-existent pages).   The Host management continued to work as it wasn't using UR.   I simply set the site to not use UR and everything is fine.

I'd prefer to use it and have the friendlier URLs.

I'm also using a skin/tab from a 3rd party, so I'm not 100% if that effects it[?]

I also have a side question:  is it standard DNN development convention to drop the leading zero when talking about versions?  The codeplex clearly shows 5.5 in the downloads, but the header shows 5.05 (and the host information shows 5.05).  That's been bugging me, figured this was a good time to ask about it.

you shoud turn off UrlRewriting during the upgrade.

Excellent, I didn't realize that (I've done a few incremental updates without chancing it in advance).  That's a great tip for the next update (assuming I get the UR resolved on this deployment).  It's certainly not a deal breaker, I'd just like to have everything running (vs. an underlying issue).
