Amar,

Getting ranked on Google takes time and effort, especially if you're doing targeted SEO, in my experience patience is the key as there is no time-frame or hard-set rules to initially getting ranked.

Dotnetnuke sites will get indexed and appear on Google just like regular HTML or PHP based sites, but you will need to let Google know about the site by placing links on already listed sites (listed sites show pages that have and are being crawled and link on here give the Googlebots paths to follow to your content), submit the site through http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/, or sign up to Google Analytics and Webmaster tools and submit a sitemap.

As a rule of thumb you should be covering all of the above so you're giving the Googlebots as many opportunities to crawl and index your content. Google Analytics and Webmaster tools will also give you good insight into search terms and traffic, so you can refine your content and SEO/SEM efforts so it's definately worth signing up to these.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Rick.

did you submit your site to the major search engines (ideally by submitting sitemap.aspx)?

Amar,

You'll not see any reference to your site until it has been crawled and indexed, even for the full domain. www.domain.com is treated like a page just like www.domain.com/page.html and will need to be crawled first before it shows up.

If you follow the points in my last post and submit your site to Google, sign up to Analytics and Webmaster Tools, and submit a sitemap you'll be on the way to getting it listed. After this you'll need to be patient and let Google do it's thing, which might take a couple of days or a couple of weeks (there is no timeframe that the search engines are commited to when you submit a url so this varies).

Regards,

Rick.
