Been having a problem logging out on two portals I am developing on 5.05.00. On some skins logging out is no problem. But on others when you logout the control panel is still present without the ability to modify anything and the only way you can logout is to go to a page (with a different skin) where the logout works and logout from there. On the pages where the logout works it takes you to the proper page (example, www.dotnetnuke.com/home.aspx). But if I am on a page it doesn't work, say contact.aspx, it takes you to www.dotnetnuke.com/contact/tabid/65/ctl/Logoff/Default.aspx and I have to go to the home page and logout from there. It appears to be skin related issue but I don't understand why because the only difference in the skins is the pane layout. Anybody know what could be going on?

if control panel is displayed to users not logged in, most likely there is a module on the page with edit permission granted to "all users" or "unauthenticated users" roles. Please verify permissions in settings of all modules on the page.

Thank you for the prompt response. There are no modules on the page. It is a new page and the ONLY difference between it and a skin that works is the pane layout. The skins are custom and I create them by copying previous skins, renaming them, and changing the pane layout. Could this be the problem? Do I actually have to install the new skin by zipping it, placing it in the install folder, and going to the install resources url? This has never been a problem before.

Now it is even making less sense. I can have a skin's code pulled up that works, change the pane layout, and the logout doesn't work. But then I change the layout back, and the logout works. So like I was saying, the ONLY difference between a skin where the logout works and one that doesn't is the pane layout.

A. Did you check the skin for HTML errors? (unclosed tags etc.)
B. Do you use the signin skin obecjt in the skin? (it can cause some issues)
