Hi,

my problem is simply i install the DNN in a shared hosting in a folder (MyDNN) so the full path is www.mywebsite.com/myDNN  and every thing is working fine, now i need to remove the (myDNN) so i can open the website directly by typing http://mywebsite.com
how can i solve this problem without adding a file for redirecting  from http://mywebsite.com to www.mywebsite.com/myDNN

Thanks

You could move all files to the root directory if you can set the same permissions as for your virtual directory.  Then change manuelly the the URL of the PartalAlias in the PortalAliases table of your Database.

Also it could be you have check all images and file downloads and modify then the URL.

If you install in a directory, the directory has to be in the path.  The solution is to install in the root of your web site.  In your case, you can either move the root, if your host allows this, to the MyDNN subfolder, or move the files up a level to the root.  You will need to change/add the new portal alias before you move this, and full-path links will need to be recreated with the new path.
