Hi,
on my webserver I've over twenty DNN installation on 3 different AppPool. Sometimes my CPU usage goes to 100% usage and viewing on precessexplorer I can see it is because for appPool usage and mscorwks.dll!CreateApplicationContext inside it.
I've searched on the net and it seems to be a problem of SMTP API. It can be fixed by changing the code, but how you know I'm working with DNN framework and I'm no able to do it. (http://forums.asp.net/t/1423760.aspx)
has anyone encountered the same problem? Is there any solution?
Thanks for any help!

HI,

I had a problem with DNN5.4 and thought the issue was the SMTP problem...

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/108/threadid/371768/scope/posts/threadpage/1/Default.aspx

From what I understand .Net4 should solve that SMTP issue.  However Chad from data springs managed trace the issue to a DNN function in DNN5.4.  This is apparently fixed in DNN5.5.1.

What version of DNN are you using.

Regards,
Dave.

Hi David,
thanks for your response.
As I say I have several DNN installation that running under the same AppPool, below you can see DNN version and Framework for each:
05.04.02(66) Framework 3.5
04.09.00 Framework 2.0.50727.3615
04.09.04 Framework 2.0.50727.3615
05.02.00 (275) Framework 3.5
05.04.02 (66) Framework 3.5

I can not update them all, but I can isolate in other AppPool the DNN version with this bug!
how I should act?

which of the app pools does cause the perfomance peak, have you been able to observe it in task manager?

Cheers from Germany,

Hi Sebastian,
I don't have one AppPool for each DNN installation, I've only one AppPool for all listed DNN installation.
The performance peak is on AppPool that running the listed DNN installation. So I'm no able to see which DNN version break out!
