I knew 4.5.3 had the issue but after an upgrade to 5.0 of the module I am not sure how this can happen. I tried multiple installs w/ 5.0 and wasn't able to reproduce.

Chris, Do you think possibly there is something residual blocking it from deleting from the old forum maybe? Would a complete uninstall of the module remove everything from the database where any old threads would not longer exist? Then maybe on a fresh install it wouldn't run into any problems? If a module/page is in the Recycle Bin it shouldn't effect deleting a thread right? Chris

A module in the recycle bin shouldn't matter on upgrade or uninstall. If you don't have any data to preserve, it may be worth a shot at completely uninstalling the module and then re-installing straight to 5.0 (if you didn't do this already). It seems like the stored procedure Delete_Post is not being updated right now.

Hi Chris,

Sorry for such a late reply, I finally got around to trying to uninstall the Forum 5.0 and reinstalling it. It seems that I can't uninstall without errors either! When I try to uninstall the Module I get the following error:

ExceptionSystem.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_ModulePermission_Permission". The conflict occurred in database "DotNetNuke", table "dbo.ModulePermission", column 'PermissionID'. The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_ModuleDefinitions_DesktopModules". The conflict occurred in database "DotNetNuke", table "dbo.ModuleDefinitions", column 'DesktopModuleID'. The statement has been terminated.

I might try manually removing what is remaining, but that wont really guarantee that everything is gone, while actually uninstalling it will.

Any other ideas?

Thanks again,

Chris

I am not sure what happened here. The statement you just mentioned has nothing to do with the forum module (specifically) but instead seems to be some other problem in your install (not a typical one that I am aware of). One thing you may want to do, check the recycle bin for any pages/module and try to delete it from there (then try again).

EDIT: Maybe this is related to some custom permissions the forum installs (other modules do this too). I assume you have host access, where you can go to Host -> SQL and run the following: SELECT * FROM Permission WHERE PermissionCode = 'FORUM_MODULE'. If you get results (and there should be 2 if I am correct) make note of the PermissionID's. You should be able to look for these specific PermissionID's in the ModulePermission table (ie. SELECT * FROM ModulePermission WHERE PermissionID = x).
