Hi all,

I am kind of new to DNN. DNN version i am using is 04.04.01. I have a module and in that module i also have a scheduler class which extends SchedulerClient. And I have a Sales.resx file under App_LocalResources in the same module. I want to get text from that  resource file in the scheduler. I am not sure how i can do that.

I tried couple of ways

Localization.GetString("SALE_CREATED", _filePath)

where _filePath = "~/DesktopModules/CSales/App_LocalResources/Sales.resx"

also tried _filePath = "/DesktopModules/CSales/App_LocalResources/Sales.resx"

both of them throwing Object reference not set error.

Could anyone please help me with  this. I really really appricate it.

Thank you,
Ana

You might try the system.io.path class and see if you can resolve the system level path to the file. On a side note I would highly encourage you to upgrade to 5.5.1, 4.4.1 is rather old and has a number of security issues

please be aware, that scheduler does not provide a portal context, i.e. neither user preferred language (as there is no user) nor portal default language.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris. I will try if i have any luck with System.io.path.

Yes, it is old... only if it was up to me. Nontheless, i will keep bugging my boss about it.

Thanks for the warning Sebastian, I don't need user preferred language as we only support english. we put the strings in local resource file since we are using the same strings from both web controls as well as scheduler.
