I’m trying to get to the bottom of why I can’t allow registered users to upload images. I’m sure it has to be a site permission thing, rather than within some module settings, but I don't know where to start.

I’ve started using – radeditor, also getting the same problem with CK editor and the standard html editor.

When I go into an html box as admin and open the image editor box,  I get an image upload button only for admin. I can't find any any of allowing registered users (for instance, so forum members can post pictures).

I've been scratching my head for days, can anyone help please?

Thanks

Go to FileManager in Admin menu, select upload folder and in permission grid below grant write permission to the designated security role.

Thanks Sebastian. I just tried that and taken a step backwards, but figured out why after a rummage around. I had to set the path for the image upload and set permissions for that specific path. Obvious to most, probably, but I thought I'd share. I can't figure out how to make these tweaks in CK editor, but it certainly works in the role-based HTML editor from RadEditor. Cool, cheers, I'm about ready to publish with this step forward.

Can anyone tell me how to add emoticons or smilies please? CK editor seems to include it, but I haven't got FTP access so I can't customise it. I can't find smilies in the Radeditor options. Thanks

On the other hand, CK editor is very much cut-down on my forum, but I haven't tried to customise it (as I don't have the access). Would anyone know why please?
