I have downloaded the last version and created a new portal (child) based on basic template provided. I need to remove the Login , for each request to my http://myportal/mychildportal, I need only logged users acces the pages. Is there a portal-wide configuration that allows this,
I saw when we are in settings, we can define home page, logon page (which I understood should be something http://myportal/mychildportal/?ctl=login.
I went through user manual but I am not able to figure out what should be the name of the page that I enter.
Thanks in advance

if you want to hide login, you need to remove the skin object from the skin applied to your site. you will need to login yourself using http://myportal/mychildportal/?ctl=login or provide login module on any.

If page level access is given only to "Registered users" instead of "users", will it work?

A logon page is just that, a separate page with an instance of the DNN Account login module placed on it.  Once you create a page with a Account login module and you specify that in your admin settings it will use this page.
The logon page should be the only page which has "all users" read access.  Every other page you create in your portal should have "registered users" read access.
