 to 19 This sounds like an easy question, let me describe what we're running into.

We can't just delete Portal 0 like we could another portal and move its aliases to the desired Portal.  The portals in question are 0 and 19.  We've developed a skin and content for Portal 19 that we now want world facing.  It would be a bear to move the content, etc. to 0.

Putting a fake link into Portal 0 as a "placeholder" so we can move the aliases doesn't work.  One was gotten to work; currently trying to move them again from 0 to 19 is easy enough but they both reference the fake link on Portal 0.

Here is our current configuration:

Portal 0         Name             www.link1.com
                                          www.link2.com

Portal 17 .....

Portal 19       Name              www.link3.com

Portal 20 ....

Disregard 17 and 20.

Here is what was tried:

Portal 0       Name              www.placeholderlink.com

Portal 17 ...

Portal 19     Name              www.link3.com
                                        www.link1.com
                                        www.link2.com

Portal 20 ...

What happens is link2 still likes link1, link1 now loves www.placeholderlink.com.  It's as if the move to Portal 19 never happened.

The ISP is Go Daddy, so I don't have database root level access, nor IIS Access or I could tinker around a bit with host headers, an LM Hosts entry and find out what's really happening.  This could be a Go Daddy issue.

By the way, the application was restarted after the URL (alias) moves.  This did work once when moving www.link2.com over to Portal 19.  I restored the db back as other alias moves resulted in some corruption.  Now trying to move the aliases again is proving unpredictable.

What is wrong here?  I've moved aliases before on earlier DNN versions where I had root level access and I don't believe I had to ever mess with a db edit or an IIS configuration in any way.

This should be a piece of cake.  We're running IIS 7 on Go Daddy (again, which can't be accessed), I don't have db access that I'd prefer or I'd use some of my Business Intel skills to see what's up and where.  Still, why should this be needed?

Where is there some documentation as to how to do this very simple, but elusive, alias editing?
