We use the Active Social module. When a user logs in to this module, the menu bar changes from the standard one to another one. For some users (like 1%), the menu doesnt display correctly. Each tab steps down by half a line and doesnt display. I've included an image below:

This may seem silly but do they have the same number of meny-items? I've seen some menus that break like that if trying to display more tabs than there is space for.

Nah, the second menu has less tabs than the first. So that shouldn't be an issue. It seems to only happen to 5% or so of our users. But happens to people using firefox, IE, chrome and windows xp, 7, and mac. So I can't pin it down to one particular op system and browser comblination.
