I upgraded from 5.5.1 to 5.6.0. All the process was perfect, no warning, all green but when you put website url in any browser (latest chrome, ff, ie) then you got error message "DotNetNuke Error. Windows Vista", then you clink on Return to website and everything is ok. I checked everything and the website is working completely ok except that error message at the beginning. I restored to an old version and did upgrade again: same result, same error message. I checked everything of hosting settings, nothing wrong. "Return to website" point to "default.aspx" so I checked if hosting have correct setting and it is ok.

Please check the site's portal aliases either from the site's Admin menu (when logged in as host navigate to Admin-->Site Settings and open advanced settings section) or by examining the PortalAlias table in the database.

Do you see a large number of entries for .png images with each path containing a reference to /skins/ folder?
