Hi Lars

I'd consider using a tool like OpenWebStudio to create your own API within a DNN site that others can communicate with.

We're doing much the same thing now to link online applications with one of our sites - to setup users automatically on our system.

Maybe a bit more work than you'd like but at least you can have it do just about anything you need.

David, Thanks for the reply but I don't want it running under an instance of DNN. I want it as a totally separate service.

Although it would run under a portal of DNN with OWS it can work to create accounts for any other portal at all... else I can't help offer other advice.  Not sure why you would have a problem with it running like that.
