Hi Folks,

Are there good XML editors that you can use in DNN as modules? Do any of the newer DNN editors handle XML? Why would I ask? Some of our Flash movies access XML for text. My passed hunt for a Flash XML or text editor didn’t turn up anything I was happy with although that may have changed. A nice functional DNN module for XML editing seemed like a reasonable choice if one exists. I didn't see anything on this forum, SnowCovered or using Google that indicated much on this issue.

Thanks for any help or advice,

G. M.

An addendum:

The editor would have to have a feature to just edit text in an element so the average customer administrator could change it. I am not talking about the typical developer XML editor although maybe some can do this.

unfortunately I am not aware of any (and the new config manager does not really contain an XML editor as well)

Thanks Sebastian. Maybe it is time to bite the bullet and develop a simple one myself that just handles text in an XML element. The other option I guess might be to buy a standalone XML Editor and modify it so it operates as a DNN module if the source is available.  Can you think of any products that might work? I always just use Visual Studio to do anything with XML.

I would suggest using some kind of tree view control, with a node per xml tag (including attributes), which would it make rather safe to edit the structure (as long as you don't have to validate against a custom XSD, which would be a bit more difficult... But maybe you would like to check codeplex as well for any project, you might incorporate...
