Well I Googled how to get Vertical navigation, and all I got back was skins I could buy and searched the forums and I got nothing back, but I  don't think I was using the search right.

However, what I want to do is just a simple vertical navigation. How would I go about this?

In your solpart menu - you need to apply display="Vertical in the code - like this -

<dnn:MENU runat="server" id="dnnMENU"  display="Vertical"/>

Ah right, thanks.

I've got a couple of other questions too though -
On mouse over, when you get the white arrow, is there any way of getting rid of that?
And I can't attach my CSS class to the navigation, is there any way to do that?

In ASCX, your menu <dnn:MENU runat="server" id="dnnMENU" ... may have rightarrow and downarrow defined. You can also add usearrows="false" to remove them. This is also where you can define the classes for the menu, which will be located in your skin.css. Look at a skin's ASCX and skin.css to understand what I'm talking about. I don't know if this is all in the documentation, but I use the Wrox book for reference. Skinning the menu is not easy. The menu uses a lot of default classes you must override. A lot of tweaking is required to get it perfect.
