It is possible to mount an Azure Storage Blob Service as a drive in the Azure VM Role, which would not be affected by recycling.

Hi,

I've working the last week in a solution with the accelerator that is currently using a Cloud Drive. You can check it at http://dnnazureaccelerator.codeplex.com/

This solution works for an instance without the need of modifying any code or prexisting module, and the good news is that is persistent through the Storage by the mounted cloud drive.

I'm now trying to scale the accelerator to support more instances (that's the cloud power!). I've seen that the accelerator supports synchronization between instances, but I've not tested it yet. Perhaps I'll need to touch the accelerator using Sync Services to synchonize the /wwwroot contents, but not DNN itself.

I think that is the best approach at this moment because there is no need to modify anything. Joe has written a good and clear analysis of the persistence problem in his blog http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B...

Hope this helps,

David Rodriguez

Joe Brinkman and others have been working close with MS on dnn and azure but it would be fair to say there are a number of hurdles - mainly due to the way azure is implemented - but according to his blog there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi David, I have searched around and cannot find an updated answer, but are we able to now or is there any timeline as to when we might be able to scale past one instance?  Thanks.  -John
